Yogi Adityanath orders biometric attendance in UP govt offices

Uttar Pradesh chie minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday ordered biometric attendance of state governmen employees in offices up to the block level.

Soon after taking over the reins of the state government Yogi conducted surprise checks in government offices in La Bahadur Shastri building (Annexe) as well as Hazratgan police station and ordered offi cers and employees to reach office on time.

On Sunday, while addressing officers at a meeting of rura development department, Yog said, “Biometric attendance should be started soon in govern ment offices.”

Referring to Yogi’s statement an officer said that during sur prise checks in government offi ces and hospitals by ministers recently, a large number o employees either came late or were found absent.

The CM directed rural devel opment department officers to display the name and mobile number of gram pradhans, gram sachivs and rozgar sewaks on notice boards of gram panchaya offices across the state. He also ordered installation of hand pumps for supply of potable water in villages.

In Bundelkhand region, new ponds will be constructed and old ones repaired. People should no face water crisis during summer and a work plan be prepared for tackling the issue, Yogi told the officers. The chief minister also directed officers to bring abou transparency in MNREGS and connect labourers with Aadhaar based payment system. A central ised online system will be set up for employment under the scheme.

The 5.73 lakh beneficiaries under PM Housing Scheme (Rural) must have job cards and should be provided 90 day work under the scheme. Expressing dissatisfaction over the working of UP Jal Nigam, Yogi said the officers must change their work ing style. He directed that the160 drinking water project in 31 dis tricts be completed fast.
