Spurned lover stabs 32-year-old woman to death in Thane

The accused broke into her house and stabbed her more than five to six times in the kitchen.

A married woman was stabbed to death by a man she allegedly spurned in Thane on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Mrunal Mangesh Ghadigaonk­ar,32, was a resident of Ganesh Nagar in Diva at Thane and the accused, Atul Kamlesh Singh,21, worked as a mobile phone repairer in the area.

Mrunal had been ignoring Singh’s proposals and advances for many months.

According to the police, around noon on Monday, Mrunal was alone at home after her husband, Mangesh, who works at a mall in Mulund left.

“Singh was angry as she was ignoring his proposals and also suspected that she was having an affair with her brother-inlaw,” said a police officer from Mumbra police station.

“Singh broke into her house and stabbed her five to six times in the kitchen. She then pushed him aside and went to the hal where she cried for help.the neighbours came near her win dow as the doors were locked,” added the officer.

An eyewitness claimed that they saw her get stabbed. The neighbours then locked the door from outside and called the cops.

The police rushed to the spot They arrested Singh and took Mrunal to a nearby hospita where she was declared dead said the police.
