LOVE YOUR PETS, BUT RESPONSIBLY

-

Pets are blessings and we should make sure that they are loved (Cruelly pushing our pets into a corner, April 25). The lack of social awareness leads to many cases of cruelty going unnoticed. There should be convictions and arrests instead of paltry fines. Also, there are irresponsible pet owners such as people who let their dogs defecate on roads. We should treat our pets like a family member and take care of their personal hygiene. Keeping the surroundings clean is our responsibility and it becomes paramount when we own an animal. deadliest Naxalite attacks, in which at least 25 CRPF personnel died and six were injured (Maoists kill 25

CRPF jawans, April 25). Our forces are targeted and looted by extremists. This is a matter of national security and there should be a plan to tackle the outfit. We can only hope the sacrifices these jawans make do not go in vain. The time has come to save those who take care of us.

Extremist outfits have raised their heads again. They are becoming more ruthless with every passing day. Twenty five CRPF jawans were killed by them. If action is not taken immediately, it will embolden the criminals to take up arms against many others. The government should deal with Maoists in the strictest manner possible. Using technology to track them has not really proved to be very useful. It is a pity that security personnel lose their lives, while dealing with them.
