Civic body’s app for DP has not uploaded the revised plan yet

MUMBAI:WHILE the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) developed an android mobile application for the development plan (DP) 2034, it seems to have forgotten the most important bit of the work – uploading the plan on the app. Uploading the plan on MCGM24X7 Development Plan will make it easier for citizens to review the DP, at a time when the state has invited public suggestions and objections for its excluded part, where changes to the BMC’S proposed plan have been made by the state. The tentative deadline for filing of suggestions and objections is June 7.

A senior civic official from the DP department, on condition of anonymity, said, “We have not uploaded it because maps showing plot reservations are not yet ready. They will be ready within a week, and we will upload the DP on the app by the end of the month. We are awaiting the gazette of the DP.”

Nitin Kareer, principal secretary of the urban development department confirmed the gazette of the DP would be published within a week. He said, “Public suggestions and objections can be filed for one month after that.”

BMC released the android mobile application in December 2017, with CM Devendra Fadnavis inaugurating it. It then uploaded the draft DP 2034, which was sent by BMC to the state for approval, with maps marking plot reservations for all 24 wards. The civic body even uploaded the maps showing reservations of plots from DP 1991. But it is yet to upload the approved DP.
