WHO IS SANJAY GHARAT?

Gharat was the deputy commissioner of the solid waste management department since 1994. He was also in-charge of KDMT In March 2015, he was promoted as the additional commissioner of KDMC

His promotion was a surprise considering he was under the Bombay HC scanner for failing to manage solid waste

Gharat was also given the charge of handling illegal constructions in Dombivli In 2014, former KDMC chief E Ravendiran had initiated action against Gharat and 10 other civic officers for violating the election code of conduct during civic polls by sanctioning a ₹9-crore bio-medical waste project in a hurry

As an additional commissioner, Gharat was also given the charge of 27 villages which he failed to look after. He was also allegedly involving in an engine scam within KDMT while he was KDMT chief in 2008.
