MALIK PLANS TO QUIT ODIS POST 2019 WORLD CUP

LAHORE: Ahead of Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe later this month, former skipper Shoaib Malik has reportedly revealed his plans of retiring from 50-over cricket after the 2019 ICC World Cup in England and Wales. Malik, who made his Pakistan debut in 1999 in a One-day Internatio­nal (ODI) against the West Indies at Sharjah, however wants to continue playing the shortest format of the game subject to his fitness and performanc­es.

No fielding coach for Pakistan on Zimbabwe tour

KARACHI: Pakistan will be without a fielding coach on their upcoming tour of Zimbabwe after Australia’s Darren Berry informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that he won’t be able to join before the Asia Cup in September. Berry has informed the PCB that he cannot take up the fielding coach’s assignment until the Asia Cup in September.

Bayliss backs Farbrace as England coach

MANCHESTER: Trevor Bayliss has backed long-time assistant Paul Farbrace to succeed him as England coach when he stands down after next year’s World Cup and Ashes. Farbrace worked under Bayliss when the Australian was head coach of Sri Lanka.
