Paddler Sahil bags double crown

MUMBAI: Junior paddler Sahil Joshi toppled top seed Yugandh Zende in the men’s singles semifinals and followed it up by outplaying second seeded Jash Dalvi 11-8, 11-7, 11-4, 11-8 to bag the title in the 3rd JSW- Thane Table Tennis ranking tournament.

In fact, Sahil, who triumphed 10-12, 11-9, 11-9, 7-11, 7-11, 11-4, 11-7 against the top seed, ended with a double, having thrashed second seeded Advait Karmalkar 11-9, 9-11,11-7,11-3,11-2, in the junior boys singles final. However, Yugandh Zende, who was also top seeded in the youth boys section, defeated another junior Jash Dalvi, the seeded second, 11-7, 12-10, 7-11, 11-7, 14-12 to take the youth boys crown.
