CM, LG TRADE CHARGES AGAIN
NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and lieutenant-governor Anil Baijal once again got into a war of words on Monday with both accusing each other for “selectively” stating facts related to the Supreme Court judgment on controlling the administration in Delhi.
Continuing his communication with L-G Baijal over the Supreme Court verdict of July 4, Arvind Kejriwal on Monday questioned the L-G for being “selective” in implementing the order.
In his letter, the second since the SC gave the elected government an upper hand in matters of daily administration, Kejriwal asserted that the ministry of home affairs (MHA) “does not have powers” to interpret the court order.
He also suggested Baijal to approach the Supreme Court immediately for clarification, in case of any confusion and urged him not to violate the court order.
Hours later, the L-G countered Kejriwal’s claim saying he was “selectively quoted” from his letter to the CM.
Responding to Kejriwal’s letter, Baijal accused the CM of leaking his letter to the media even before it reached his office. “Before your letter reached my office, it appeared on social and electronic media,” the L-G said in his reply to Kejriwal.
Baijal alleged Kejriwal quoted selectively from his letter of July 6 and “erroneously” accused him of selective acceptance of the July 4 verdict of Supreme Court.
