CONG FLAGS OFF YATRA TO COUNTER MP CM’S CAMPAIGN

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath flagged off the ‘Jan Jagaran’ yatra from Tarana, situated some 35 km from Ujjain, to counter chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Jan Ashirvad Yatra that started on July 14. State Congress working president Jitu Patwari is leading the yatra, which is part of the ‘Pol Khol Abhiyan’, that will touch all the places where the CM is taking his campaign. Assembly elections are slated for November. Hitting out at the CM, Nath said, “It is not a Jan Ashirvad Yatra but a ‘Vidayi’ (good bye) Yatra that the chief minister is taking out because this time the people have decide to send him back home and they have become aware of the fake promises and announceme­nt of the Chouhan government.”

Number plates must for VVIP vehicles: HC

Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar said that every vehicle has to comply with the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and display the number plates. The order came while disposing of a plea by Nyayabhoom­i, through its secretary Rakesh Agarwal, which had alleged that displaying of national emblem on the cars instead of the number plates makes it conspicuou­s and the dignitarie­s can be made easy target for terrorists and anyone with malicious intentions. HT reported on January 6, 2018, about government move to have number plates on VVIP vehicles, in compllianc­e with the Motor Vehicle Act 1988.
