Sourabh, Mithun enter Russian Open semis
VLADIVOSTOK,RUSSIA: Indian shuttlers Sourabh Verma and Mithun Manjunath progressed to the semi-finals of the men’s singles competition at the USD 75,000 Russian Open BWF Tour Super 100 tournament on Friday.
Second seeded Indian mixed doubles pair of Rohan Kapoor and Kuhoo Garg also entered the semi-finals after brushing aside local hopes Andrej Loginov and Liliia Abibulaeva 21-13, 21-9.
It was also end of the road for former national champion Rituparna Das, who lost 17-21, 13-21 to USA’S Iris Wang. Cup here. Kapur started the day two shots behind the leader, but now finds himself six behind as South Africa’s Justin Harding continued his blistering form by carding a second consecutive six-under-par 64.
Kapur was the best Indian in fifth while Gaganjeet Bhullar bounced back from an indifferent first round with a super 65 in the second and was now T-13 at 4-under.
BENGALURU FC TO FACE BARCELONA ‘B’ TEAM
