TAAPSEE PANNU WOULD LOVE TO DO MITHALI BIOPIC

-

MUMBAI: Actor Taapsee Pannu says she would love to do the biopic on Indian women’s cricket captain Mithali Raj, but believes it is too early to talk about the project. Viacom18 Motion Pictures has acquired the rights for Mithali’s biopic, who is the highest run-scorer in women’s cricket and the only woman to surpass the 6,000 runs in ODIS. “The script is not in place so it’s too early to talk about it. Right now, they are collecting material. If they offer me, I will be very happy. I really want to do a sports biopic,” Taapsee said.

Be angry and challenge Kohli, says Vaughan

BIRMINGHAM: Be angry and challenge Virat Kohli, urged former captain Michael Vaughan to England players. Vaughan goaded the pace duo of Stuart Broad and James Anderson to “step up and challenge Virat Kohli’s front foot”. “You need his front foot going over to the off side, he then starts doubting where his off-stump is and playing squarer on the off side which is when the outside edge comes into play. England did it in the one-day series at times. He was vulnerable a yard outside off-stump and Anderson and Broad have to hang it out there and say ‘Come to us’. If there is any movement in the air they will be a real threat,” Vaughan wrote in his column in the Daily Telegraph.

Erwee, Hamza help South Africa A post 389/2

BANGALORE: South Africa A feasted on Board President’s inexperienced bowling attack to amass 389/2 on the first day of their two-day warm-up match. Opting to bat, the visitors rode centuries by Sarel Erwee (117 retired hurt) and Zubayr Hamza (104 batting), to pile up a formidable score against what can be called a fourth-string bowling attack. At stumps at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Rassie van der Dussen (35) was giving Hamza company. Skipper Khaya Zondo contributed 67 while opener Pieter Malan made 51 in the run feast. Preparing to face India A, the visiting South Africans started on a strong note, putting on 161 runs for the first wicket. Malan was dismissed by Jalaj Saxena after striking seven boundaries.
