CURREY RD STN ROB MAY BE SHUT FOR REPAIRS

MUMBAI: The central railway (CR) may take the decision to shut the pedestrian portion of the road overbridge (ROB) leading to the entrance of Currey Road station due to repair work. The ROB was inspected by railway officials on Friday, but the final decision will be taken after the IIT-B report. Meanwhile, the Patri Pool ROB in Kalyan will be shut after an IIT-B report deemed it unfit for vehicular transport. KDMC has been informed to shut all traffic, including pedestrian traffic, on the bridge, said Sunil Udasi, chief public relation officer, CR.

Rainfall may increase next week, says IMD

MUMBAI: Rainfall activity in the city and surroundin­g areas may increase from August 8 onwards, the weather bureau said. On Friday, south Mumbai and the suburbs recorded light rain with 3.4mm at Colaba and 2.4mm rain at Santacruz. The weather bureau had predicted “light to moderate rain or showers in the city and suburbs,” for the weekend.

Gold worth ₹1.55 cr found at film producer’s house

MUMBAI: The Mumbai crime branch have recovered gold worth ₹1.55 crore from the residence of Marathi film producer, Amol Lavate. Lavate and three others had allegedly stolen the gold in its raw form worth ₹2.4 crore earlier this week.

MUMBAI: Five have been arrested by the Navghar police for allegedly circulatin­g child pornograph­y on groups on a social messaging app to over 250 people. Three are absconding.
