MUMBAI: The Mago brothers, Sumehr and Harmehr powered Khar Gymkhana’s KG ‘C’ team to a 3-0 win against ECC ‘Elfies Tigers’ in quarter-final match of the Otters Club BSAM Mumbai Z3-snooker League 2018 at Otters Club Billiards Room on Friday. In another quarter-final, Vimal Mariwala powered Radio Club’s team Radio ‘Tigers’ to a 3-1 win over Dadar Club ‘Fighters’.

RESULTS (Quarter-finals): Radio ‘Tigers’ bt Dadar Club ‘Fighters’ 3-1 (S Mehrotra (+45) lost to L Boricha (+45) 94-105, V Mariwala (+35) bt C Serrao (+40) 98-68, M Screwvala/b Karimi (+26) bt G Jaisinghan­i/p Vanjari (+21) 83-21, V Mariwala (+35) bt L Boricha (+45) 91-62).

KG ‘C’ bt ECC ‘Elfies Stars’ 3-0 (S Kakkad/k Rao (+30) bt M Jagdale/s Jain (+14) 64-59, S Mago (+30) bt R Joshi (+25) 102-89, H Mago (+30) bt A Bagri (+30) 109-73).

BHULLAR MOVES TO 5TH, SANDHU MAKES CUT

NATADOLA BAY, FIJI: Gaganjeet Bhullar recovered from a shaky start to card three-under 69 for a share of the fifth spot at the midway stage of the Fiji Internatio­nal tournament here.

Of the four Indians, Ajeetesh Sandhu (73-73) was the only other one to make the cut, while Shiv Kapur (80-72) and Chiragh Kumar (77-80) missed out.

FUNDS APPROVED FOR SUSHIL’S TRAINING

NEWDELHI:THE Sports Ministry on Friday sanctioned ₹4.95 lakh for star wrestler Sushil Kumar’s two-week training programme in Georgia ahead of the Asian Games, besides clearing another ₹25 lakh for athletes across seven other sports.
