A DAY IN A SANATAN SANSTHA ASHRAM

A number of activities are available to seekers throughout the day.

The day starts at 6am; aarti is performed at 8am with chanting of prayers for 2-3 hours in a meditation hall. Seekers then perform seva in various sections of Ashram as listed below:

HOLY TEXT PUBLICATIO­N: Typesettin­g, proofreadi­ng, cover design for publicatio­n of holy texts compiled by Dr Jayant Athavale. These are published in Marathi, Hindi, English and Kannada among others ART DEPARTMENT: Designing sattvik (pure or pious) idols and pictures of deities, fonts etc

ALMANAC DEPARTMENT: Every year, it publishes almanacs in eight languages. The process involves study of astronomy, festival dates, etc

KALA MANDIR (STUDIO): Making VCDS on how to impart education on Dharma, how to celebrate festivals. Work includes video shooting, editing

PUBLICATIO­N SECTION: Takes care of Sanatan Prabhat periodical­s – the daily Sanatan Prabhat and weekly Sanatan Prabhat, both in Marathi and Kannada; a monthly issue in English, Hindi, Gujarati. WEBSITE SECTION: All material on the official website is prepared and uploaded by this department

SCHOOLS FOR PRIESTS: To train priests who can impart education on Dharma to society, the Sanstha has started a school, where youngsters are taught to perform rituals and rites

SPIRITUAL RESEARCH SECTION: Carries out research in spiritual science

TAKING CARE OF THE OLD: The department looks after aged seekers who need medication

MEDICAL SECTION: Treating ailing seekers using allopathy, ayurveda and homeopathy. Medical practition­ers, who are also seekers, provide services voluntaril­y

Other activities such as cooking and driving are also available for seekers.
