20YROLD DEAD, FRIEND HURT IN EEH HITANDRUN

MUMBAI: A 20-year-old man died while his friend was seriously injured in an accident on the Eastern Express Highway (EEH). Police suspect a truck hit the duo from behind, after which Nitesh Jadhav was crushed to death and Karan Parmar, 24, sustained serious injuries. Parmar is being treated at a hospital.

BJP member stabbed to death in Panvel, 3 arrested

NAVI MUMBAI: Three people were arrested from Panvel for stabbing BJP member Ashish Naik, 30, to death on Friday. Naik’s father said the prime accused, Rupesh Ninawe, 30, held a grudge against his son because he had intervened in a fight of which Ninawe was a part.

Man promises permanent job, cheats friend of ₹11.3L

THANE: Wagle Estate police have booked a man for allegedly cheating his friend of ₹11.3 lakh by promising him a permanent job in a reputable company. The police have initiated a probe against Jayesh Panchal for duping his friend Jigar Thakar in June 2017. Panchal was booked based on the complaint filed by Thakar on Thursday. Panchal is yet to be arrested.
