- HT Correspondent

MUMBAI: The office of deputy director of education will display the list of vacant seats for the First Year Junior Colleges (FYJC) admissions across Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) at 11 am today.

Students who are yet to get a seat even after five rounds of admissions can look at the seat matrix and decide which college to opt for in the first-come, firstserved (FCFS) rounds, which will begin from August 27.

Students who had been allotted colleges of their first preference but failed to secure admission and those who had can-

celled their admissions in the allotted colleges, would be eligible to apply for the FCFS rounds.

Each student can secure a seat in phases on the basis of merit.

Students scoring 80% and above can pick from the vacant seats on August 27, followed by those scoring 60% and above on August 29. Those who scored 35% and more can choose from the vacant seats on August 31.

Students can choose a college of their choice on the scheduled day and can go to the college to confirm their seats within the stipulated time.

While the state education department did not release details on the exact number of students who have still not been enrolled into colleges, the number is above 20,000 according to sources.
