STATE ASKS STAFF TO DONATE A DAY’S PAY FOR KERALA

MUMBAI: The state on Monday, asked all its staff, including IAS,

IPS and IFS officers, as well as state-level officials to donate their one-day’s salary to Kerala relief fund. Members of both the Houses will also donate their salaries. Last week, the Maharashtr­a government had announced an immediate financial assistance of ₹20 crore for Kerala.

Foreign national held for carrying drugs worth ₹3cr

MUMBAI: A Tanzanian national was arrested at the Chhatrapat­i Shivaji Internatio­nal Airport (CSIA) on Monday with drugs worth ₹3 crore. Cheche Lulu Hubert, said to be in her forties, had arrived from Johannesbu­rg via Addis Ababa. She was arrested after amphetamin­e, a dangerous party drug was found from her luggage.

BADLAPUR: A 30-year-old woman poured hot oil on her neighbour on Sunday after she caught him masturbati­ng and urinating in front of her kitchen’s window in Badlapur. The accused Vikram Singh, 52, has been arrested.

Tired of devotional songs, son stabs mother, arrested

BADLAPUR: A 21-year-old man was arrested by the Badlapur (East) police on Sunday for stabbing his mother over a heated argument at Apte wadi in Badlapur. According to the police, on Sunday around 4pm , the accused, Akash Dhende, 21, got angry when his mother, Sunita, 44, played devotional songs and then stabbed her over an argument. “Sunita is undergoing treatment at KEM hospital and is stable,” a police officer said.

30yearold dies after trailer hits bike in Mahape

NAVI MUMBAI: A 30-year-old man, identified as Yatin Kumar Sharma, a resident of BARC colony in Anushakti Nagar, died after his bike was hit by a trailer at Mahape on Sunday around 10.15am. “Sharma was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to the injuries,” a police officer from Turbhe police station said. Police have nabbed Khushbu Shaikh, 22, the driver of the trailer, .

Slab of underconst­ruction bldg falls, 7yearold hurt

MUMBAI: A seven-year-old boy was injured when a slab of an under-constructi­on building collapsed on the adjoining houses of the Sai Kripa building in Jogeshwari on Monday at 8pm. A BMC official said, “The boy broke his arm in the incident. Three others have sustained minor injuries.”

Man objects 3 for urinating near school gate, killed

ULHASNAGAR: A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death after he objected three people for urinating near a school on Sunday. Chandrakan­t Devidas More was an Ulhasnagar resident. Police are on the lookout for the three accused, Sunil Prajapati, Nitin Choudhary and Ravi Kumar.
