SRI LANKA RECALL LASITH MALINGA FOR ASIA CUP

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s selectors on Saturday recalled fast bowler Lasith Malinga after an year in limbo and included him in a 16-member squad for the Asia Cup. The injury-prone 35-year-old had been largely ignored since his last ODI appearance in September last year against India in Colombo when he took one wicket for 35 runs. Sri Lanka lost the match by six wickets. However, official sources said he had impressed selectors during an ongoing domestic T20 series and has now been included in the squad for the Asia Cup, opening in the United Arab Emirates in two weeks. India Blue enter Duleep Trophy final

DINDIGUL: India Blue booked a spot in the Duleep Trophy final after the final league game against India Green ended in a draw on Saturday. India Blue, who secured three points, will now face India Red in the title clash, to be held from September 4.

Windies reveal dates for ‘biggest’ England tour

ST. JOHN’S : Cricket West Indies announced Friday the dates for what they said was the “biggest” England tour in a decade. The all-format two-month visit by England, which begins in January 2019, will see them face the West Indies in three Tests, five one-day internatio­nals and two Twenty20 internatio­nals. A Cricket West Indies statement said it would be “the biggest internatio­nal home series between the two teams since 2009”. All the fixtures will take place in the eastern Caribbean, with Barbados, Antigua and St. Lucia staging the Test matches.
