MUMBAI: Three people were arrested on Tuesday by the Central Railway (CR) Railway Protection Force (RPF) for performing Kiki challenge stunt at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). The court has now asked the three to create a social campaign to spread awareness about the possible dangers of the act.

The accused were produced before a metropolitan magistrate court at CSMT on Tuesday afternoon where they pleaded guilty for their crime.

The court acquitted the three men after they assured the court that they would make a video to create awareness about the dangerous impact of the Kiki challenge.

The accused Ramkumar Gautam, 23, Abdul Kader Yusuf, 22, and Kanhaya Kumar, 23, were arrested under the section 144 of the Railway Act.

According to RPF personnel, the three admitted to have shot the video and posted on social media. “The three admitted that they had shot the video at CSMT on July 29 and had uploaded on social networking site, Youtube. They did so to earn money from the views they would get from social media followers,” said a senior central railway official.

The court considered the plea of the three accused and held

that they need to be given benefit of Probation of Offenders Act.

The court observed, “It appears from the conduct of the accused that they have done this act for immediate publicity. They have fallen prey to the present day trend of getting publicity by doing something different.”

It further observed, “The accused have contended that they have prepared an awareness video clip to desist from the dangerous Kiki challenge. They have been called upon to do the needful and also aware people of the penal action that comes post violation of the law.”

The video surfaced on Youtube on July 30 where a man was seen dancing in a local train compartment and got down from the train as it started moving.
