CENTRE APPROVES TRANSFER OF RCF PLOT TO MMRDA

MUMBAI: Union cabinet on Wednesday approved the transfer of plot owned by Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertiliser­s (RCF) to Mumbai Metropolit­an Region Developmen­t Authority (MMRDA). The MMRDA acquired 48,849.74 sqm plot for building Eastern Freeway- Anik Panjarpol Link Road (APLR) project.

MUMBAI: A 59-year-old retired BEST official lost ₹1.10 lakh to vishing a month after he received his credit card, with a limit of ₹5 lakh. The fraudster called the victim on the pretext of verifying his details. Within minutes of sharing his PIN, the complainan­t received alerts about monetary transactio­ns.

Gold, cigarettes and saffron worth ₹3.77 cr confiscate­d

MUMBAI: Directorat­e of Revenue Intelligen­ce (DRI) officials seized saffron, cigarettes and gold worth ₹2.73 crore at Airport Parcel Sorting Office. The items were concealed among other particular­s such as computer processors and medicines. In the second incident, a flier was arrested while trying to smuggle gold worth gold ₹1.04 crore.

AI to fly direct from Mumbai to Frankfurt starting Oct 16

MUMBAI: Air India will launch its first direct flight from Mumbai to Frankfurt, Germany, on October 16. The flight will be operated on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. While the introducto­ry executive class return journey fare has been fixed at ₹1.45 lakh, return fare for economy class will cost ₹43,000.
