K’TAKA SLASHES FUEL PRICES BY ₹2
BENGALURU: Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Monday announced a cut in cost of petrol and diesel by Rs2 per litre to rein in runaway prices. “Today, we are taking a decision that we are going to reduce ₹2 on both petrol and diesel,” Kumaraswamy said. On Monday, petrol was selling at ₹84.74 per litre while diesel cost ₹76.10 per litre. In July, Janata Dal (Secular) -Congress government had raised the cess on petrol and diesel prices in the state’s budget.
Mizoram Congress expels party vicepresident
GUWAHATI: Three days after he quit from the Lal Thanhawla cabinet, Mizoram Congress vice-president R Lalzirliana was expelled from primary membership of the party on Monday. Lalzirliana, who was the home minister in the ruling Congress government, resigned from the post on Friday after he was served a show-cause notice over statements on joining a rival party. However, he had not resigned from the party.
Arbitrators should be trained, says CJI
NEW DELHI: Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra on Monday said arbitrators must undergo training to understand developments in the world of arbitration. Justice Misra also said a good arbitrator must also be a strong mediator and must not stop learning. He was speaking at the release of the book Principles of Law of Arbitration in India penned by Dharmendra Rautray.
