LONDON : An Indian citizen deported from Britain in 2014 for overstayin­g his visitor visa, who returned after acquiring an Indian passport on a false name and a Portuguese passport in that name, faces deportatio­n again after a judge told him: “Stay away.” Bhadresh Kumar Rathod, 45, was sentenced to jail for a year at the Leicester Crown Court this week after he pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing identity documents with improper intention. These relate to the forged Portuguese passport and fake ID card, as well as a fraudulent­ly obtained UK residence card and a provisiona­l driving licence acquired in August, reports from Leicester in the East Midlands said.

Japanese carrier conducts drills with British warship

Pak court upholds Imran aide’s disqualifi­cation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Thursday struck down a review petition filed by Jahangir Khan Tareen, a close aide of Prime Minister Imran Khan, against his lifetime disqualifi­cation from politics for improper declaratio­n of assets. The three-judge bench observed there were no grounds to review the verdict disqualify­ing Tareen.
