Hazlewood, Marsh named joint Test vicecaptai­ns

LAHORE: Paceman Josh Hazlewood and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh were named joint vice-captains of Australia’s Test team on Thursday under a new leadership structure installed in the wake of this year’s ball-tampering scandal. Hazlewood and Marsh will be permanent replacemen­ts for David Warner, who was banned for 12 months for his role in the incident in South Africa. Previous captain Steve Smith was also banned for a year while Cameron Bancroft was suspended for nine months.

India to host Deaf T20 World Cup in November

NEW DELHI: India will host the Deaf ICC T20 World Cup to be held from November 23-30 in Gurgaon, the organisers announced on Thursday. The eight-day tournament will see participat­ion from over 200 players across eight countries including England, Australia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, South Africa, apart from India, vying for the top honours. The eight teams will be divided into two groups and each team will play three matches in group stage. Two teams from each group will then qualify for the semi-finals.
