WE NEED MORE SUCH FACILITIES ALL OVER THE CITY

I’m happy with the installati­on of the state-of-the-art toilet at Marine drive area. It is the need of the hour to have accessible, clean and hygienic toilets on the roadside, alongside the highways and market area.

Today there are many diabetic and early stage diabetic patients who frequently require to use the toilet facilities. Where do they go to? Once these facilities are installed at every nook and corner of our city, I’m sure it will drasticall­y reduce the number of open unhygienic sanitation. It will also improve health.

Mumbai needs toilets at every two to three kilometre distances to help the common man. For instance, more toilets are needed around places like Dadar TT, Parel, Shivaji Park, Wadala station area, Ranade Road Dadar West, Lal Baug, Crawford market.

We also need to repair footpaths and mend the potholes on the roads. I suffer from spondyliti­s and every time I ride in a car, my back problems aggravate. So can we please provide safe and smooth roads in the city?

This city also needs drinking water facilities, well demarcated footpaths, dustbins at various points with clear and motivating boards to tempt people to make use of them, trees to provide shade, pedestrian bridges with escalators, working traffic signals and zebra crossings.

A joint effort by citizens and authoritie­s will pave the way for a cleaner Mumbai.

Keeping this in our minds this, swanky public toilet seems to be very good move, because along with the toilet complex has vacuum technology, it reduces water consumptio­n by 90 per cent and uses just 0.8 litres per flush, compared to 7-8 litres used in a traditiona­l toilet.
