WHICH GOLD TO USE
Gold is as varied a hue as it is bold. So consider the shades you want in your home’s gold palette. Décor and accent pieces in the muted or copper finishes are less visually jarring than yellow. Try them with the bedroom upholstery (you know guests will spill into the bedroom as well), a vase or an artwork.

Experiment with white gold, champagne gold, antique gold, matte finishes and rose gold. “Rose and copper add warmth and look great as candle holders, lampshades or wall accessories,” Amardeep Gulri, founder and principal designer at bespoke design firm Deco-arte.

This year’s look is all about surprise accents – gold, where you don’t often expect it to be. Check out gold-patterned wallpapers, gold-leafed chandeliers, decals for the windows, tasseled curtain ties, statement clocks and gold-veined plastics that mimic the look of stone.
“Arranging smaller objects on a shelf or corner table to combine their impact single pieces together,” says Shivangi Shah, proprietor and creative head, Hive Home. Consider a small powder-coated matte gold chandeliwe in the kitchen or balcony too. “Chandeliers are no longer just for the living room. And go for subtle pops here and there.”
