Bolt fires two goals during Mariners trial
SYDNEY: Usain Bolt scored two goals in his first start for the Central Coast Mariners in a trial match on Friday that he hopes could pave the way for a professional contract as a footballer.
The 32-year-old Jamaican was in the thick of the action as the Mariners recorded a 4-0 win over Macarthur South West United.
MICHEL PLATINI FILES LAWSUIT IN FIFA CASE
Paris:convinced he was the victim of a plot, former UEFA president Michel Platini has filed a lawsuit in France in a bid to prove that former FIFA officials conspired to get him banned from football. The Le Monde reported that Platini filed a complaint for ‘slanderous denunciation’ and ‘criminal conspiracy to commit the offence of slanderous denunciation’.
CHELSEA HAS PLANS FOR RACIST FANS
LONDON: Chelsea is sending fans banned for anti-semitism on diversity training courses that could end up with visits to Nazi concentration camps, the club said this week.
The initiative for fans guilty of non-criminal racist acts is part of owner Roman Abramovich’s ongoing initiative to stamp out anti-semitism.
INDIA SUFFER FIRST DEFEAT IN JOHOR CUP
