GEORGIA:THIERRY Henry, who was recently appointed as the manager of Monaco, has said that Man City coach Pep Guardiola is his reference for the managerial role.

“Pep is the reference, for me, I’m not saying for everyone. There’s no right or wrong; that’s the reference for me. We learned how to play the game when I went to Barcelona under him. With Pep you can talk about the game; he will not even sleep and will still talk about the game. You will fall asleep and he’s still talking,” CNN quoted Henry, as saying.

BOLT REJECTS OFFER FROM MALTESE CLUB

SYDNEY: Usain Bolt has turned down the offer to play for Maltese champions Valletta FC, his agent has confirmed.

“Usain does not wish to pursue this Malta opportunit­y,” Ricky Simms told ESPN. “There is a lot of interest in Usain playing football. We regularly receive similar approaches.”

Bolt has repeatedly expressed his hope to win a contract ahead of the 2018-19 A-league campaign which kicks off this weekend.

VIDAL FINED €800,000 FOR NIGHTCLUB FIGHT

BERLIN: Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal has been hit with an €800,000 fine by a Munich court after being found guilty of assault during a nightclub fight last year.

Vidal and his half-brother were both found guilty after attacking another man at Munich’s Crowns Club in September 2017, which was reportedly caught on security camera.

HIGUAIN NOT BITTER DESPITE JUVE SNUB

MILAN:AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain said on Thursday he was not bitter despite being ‘kicked out’ by Juventus after Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival.

Higuain — loaned to AC Milan with a €36 million option to buy — said he knew something was afoot when he was left on the bench for the Italian Cup final against AC Milan in May.

“That day, I had the feeling inside me that maybe something had broken down. And then they signed Ronaldo,” Higuain said.
