CHAIN SNATCHER STEALS ₹25,000 GOLDCHAIN,HELD

MUMBAI: The Shivaji Park police recently arrested a 30-year-old man for stealing a gold chain worth ₹25,000 from a 16-year-old boy. The arrested accused had requested the victim to help him initially, but then took him to an isolated place and stole his gold chain after threatening to hit him with a stone.

Man arrested for rickshaw driver’s murder in Mulund

MULUND: The Mulund police arrested a 25-year-old man on Tuesday for allegedly murdering a 49-year-old rickshaw driver in Gautam Nagar, on Monday, over previous enmity. The accused was booked under section 302 (murder) of the IPC.

Minor detained for fourth time for stealing scooters

MUMBAI: The Charkop police detained a 17-year-old boy on Sunday for allegedly stealing nine scooters. This is the fourth time in last three years that the boy was caught for scooter theft. The police said the boy has been sent to a correction home.

THANE: The Thane anti-extortion cell (AEC) arrested Pradip Patil, 45, an RTI activist, on Monday for allegedly running an extortion racket. Senior inspector, AEC, Pradeep Sharma, said Sudhir Barge, 45, another RTI activist, arrested for extortion on October 27, had revealed Patil’s name.

Bavkhaleshwar temple: MIDC, police to act soon

NAVI MUMBAI: Following a warning by the Bombay high court on Tuesday, the MIDC and the police assured that Bavkhaleshwar Temple in Pawne will be demolished soon.
