DUBAI: India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal broke into the top 10 of ICC rankings while Shikhar Dhawan dropped four places to ninth in the batsmen standings following a lean home series against the West Indies. India captain Virat Kohli completed 10,000 ODI runs on his way to a series aggregate of 453 runs and has consolidat­ed his position as the top-ranked batsman. In the bowlers’ table, Chahal, Akila Dananjaya and Ravindra Jadeja made big impact, while No 1 Jasprit Bumrah achieved a career high 841 rating points.

Shehzad’s comeback from doping ban delayed

KARACHI: Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad’s hopes of making a comeback next week have been dashed after the country’s cricket board added six weeks to his four-month ban for failing a dope test. The fourmonth ban under the anti-doping clauses was to end on November 10, but the opener got into trouble when he played nine matches for Muslim Gymkhana during the period of his ban.

Gayle to play for Jozi Stars in Mzansi Super League

JOHANNESBU­RG: Chris Gayle has confirmed participat­ion for Jozi Stars in the Mzansi Super League. He will be available for the first fixture against Nelson Mandela Bay Giants at Bidvest Wanderers on Saturday. “We are excited to have Chris and he is looking forward to linking up with his Jozi Stars teammates,” said CSA chief executive Thabang Moroe.
