FIRE BREAKS OUT IN HIGH­RISE AT NAGPADA

MUM­BAI: A ma­jor fire broke out at a high rise in Nagpada late on Satur­day. No ca­su­al­ties have been re­ported till the time of go­ing to press. The fire broke out at the tenth floor of Bis­milla Tower on Dim­timkar Road at Nagpada around 10pm and was doused by 11.45pm. Four fire ten­ders and wa­ter tankers were rushed to the spot. Ac­cord­ing to fire of­fi­cials, a short-cir­cuit could have caused the fire.

Man ar­rested for rap­ing 15­year­old step­daugh­ter

MUM­BAI: Tara­pur po­lice have ar­rested a man for al­legedly rap­ing his 15-year-old step­daugh­ter while her mother was away for Di­wali. Ac­cord­ing to API Sar­jerao Kumb­har of Tara­pur po­lice sta­tion, the ac­cused was pro­duced be­fore the Pal­ghar court on Thurs­day and has been re­manded in po­lice cus­tody till November 12.

5 held for at­tack­ing Kurla guard, dam­ag­ing ve­hi­cles

MUM­BAI : Nehru Nagar po­lice ar­rested Pranay Tu­lur, 19, Swap­nil Ad­sure, 20, Pra­ful Torne, 23, Mur­gan Ling­tar, 20, and Mari Tariy­achi, 19, for as­sault­ing a se­cu­rity guard at Shramjivi Nagar res­i­den­tial so­ci­ety in Kurla on Wed­nes­day and dam­ag­ing ve­hi­cles. Ac­cord­ing to the cops, the ac­cused were on the look­out for Faizal Pathan, 23, a res­i­dent of the so­ci­ety with whom they had skir­mishes in the past.

‘Will protest if Marathi film doesn’t get screen time’

MUM­BAI: The Ma­ha­rash­tra Navnir­man Sena (MNS) has is­sued a 24-hour warn­ing to all mul­ti­plex own­ers in Ma­ha­rash­tra, say­ing they will stage a protest if the Marathi movie “Aani...dr. Kashinath Ghanekar” is not screened dur­ing prime time. “We is­sued the warn­ing af­ter re­ceiv­ing com­plaints from cities across the state,” said MNS leader and film pro­ducer Ameya Khop­kar.

Video of exp train loco pi­lot uri­nat­ing on pole goes vi­ral

MUM­BAI: A video of a loco pi­lot, get­ting down from an uniden­ti­fied ex­press train and uri­nat­ing on a nearby pole in Va­sai on Satur­day morn­ing, has gone vi­ral on so­cial me­dia. Ravin­der Bhakar, CPRO, WR, said that he is yet to ver­ify the video. “The pi­lot must have in­formed the con­trol room in Church­gate and guard on board be­fore stop­ping the train,” Bhakar said.
