Armaan, Rudra power up Mumbai

MUMBAI:OPENER Rudra Dhanday, with a knock of 166 runs, and middle-order batsman Armaan Jaffer, who dazzled with a delectable double ton and returned back to the pavilion unbeaten on 214, combined to add 281 runs for the third wicket which got Mumbai in a commanding position against Saurashtra on the second day of their Under-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy match at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

Resuming at 114 for two, the duo took Mumbai to 272 for two at lunch, registerin­g their respective centuries along the way. After Rudra’s departure, Jaffer continued his stint to see Mumbai end the day at 481 for four.

BRIEF SCORES dra Shield Selection Tournament title defeating Vijay Manjrekar XI on the basis of their first innings lead. In another match, Vijay Merchant XI beat Khandu Rangnekar XI by 231 runs.

While Kriti defeated Devanshi Shah, Rucha scored over Vibha Navare and Devanshi Solanki tamed Shruti Shirsekar.
