AFTER STUDENTS GET WRONG BMS PAPER, MU TO FIND SOLUTION

-

MUMBAI: A day after several thirdyear Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) students complained about being handed the wrong question paper for their fifth semester exams, the subject coordinator was called to the University of Mumbai (MU) to find a solution to this error.

On Monday, while the students were all fresh candidates appearing for the Logistics & Supply Chain Management paper, many were handed over the question paper based on the old syllabus, meant for repeater candidates.

“More colleges had written to us on Tuesday and the subject coordinator has been asked to suggest a solution,” said Arjun Ghatule, director, department of examination and evaluation, MU.

“Re-doing the exam is not possible so the subject coordinator will find out the difference in paper pattern and syllabus, and accordingly come up with a solution that will be in favour of students,” said Ghatule.

Each subject offered by the university has a specific subject code, including separate codes for separate paper patterns (depending on old and new syllabus) of the same subject.

While the code for the new syllabus of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management subject was 46001, students in at least five city colleges were handed over a question paper with the subject code 31263 — based on the old syllabus.

On Tuesday, several affected students too approached their respective colleges as well as the university, seeking clarity in the matter.
