INTERNET PAGE REMOVED AFTER COLLEGE’S DIKTAT

MUMBAI: After the management of Government Law College (GLC) on Monday released a circular addressed to students, instructin­g them to remove a page from a social media platform, the page was removed on Tuesday . This page, named “GLC Mumbai Confession Page” had anonymous messages and posts from several students, some even ridiculing the college administra­tion.

Religious institutio­ns asked to help farmers in distress

MUMBAI: With the government declaring a drought-like situation in 180 out of the state’s 358 talukas, in an official notificati­on issued last week, the Maharashtr­a state charity Commission­er, Shivkumar Dige, has asked religious organisati­ons to provide funds, for people in Marathwada and Vidarbha regions.

MMRDA floats tenders for Metro train operators

MUMBAI: A year before the two metro lines will be made operationa­l, the Mumbai Metropolit­an Regional Developmen­t Authority (MMRDA) floated tenders for train operators on Tuesday. The authority is looking for train operators for the Metro-7 (Andheri-dahisar) and Metro-2a (Dahisar-dn Nagar). Both lines are expected to be made operationa­l by the end of 2019.

Name Samruddhi corridor after Savarkar: Arun Joshi

MUMBAI: After Sena’s demand to name the Samruddhi Mahamarg after Bal Thackeray, Hindu Mahasabha’s senior leader Arun Joshi has demanded that the corridor be named after the late freedom fighter Vinayak Savarkar. Joshi said that naming the corridor after Savarkar will help in propagatin­g his views.
