AI strike late to hold BOI

MUMBAI: Air India scored a late equaliser to salvage a 1-1 draw against Bank of India in the Elite Division football league at the Andheri Sports Complex.

BOI custodian Sanjeev Verma was outstandin­g as he saved two penalties from Vijith Shetty and Scott D’souza in the second half.

Mid-way through the second period BOI were reduced to 10 men as defender Shailesh Jadhav got his second booking.

BOI took the lead through Rishik Shetty in the 53rd minute before Scott made amends scoring in the 90th minute.

KARNATAKA SC CLINCH ADV KUDROLLI TITLE

Karnataka Sports Club sent defending champions Star of Canara SC crashing to a 3-0 defeat in the final of the Karnatak Sporting Associatio­n-organised 12th Adv AR Kudrolli Memorial Football Tournament. After former internatio­nal Steven Dias provided KSC with 1-0 half-time lead striker Amey Bhatkal scored two goals in the second period to help Karnataka SC triumph.
