Sellebrity Sports Club showed good understand­ing and excellent teamwork as they charged to a facile 5-0 win against Unmat-emilan Sports Club in a one-sided boys’ under-12 match of the MDFA Yuva President League on Monday.

IMPRESSIVE PHERWANI IN PRE-QUARTERS

Cricket Club of India’s Sparsh Pherwani, winner of the first leg, continued with his impressive form and scored his third successive win, defeating Nikhil Saigal of Khar Gymkhana by a narrow 3-2 (41-67, 55-44, 31-62, 64-38 and 62-43) margin in a keenly-contested Group-a match of the snooker competitio­n of the BSAM Maharashtr­a State Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg-2) Championsh­ip 2018, at the Bombay Gymkhana billiards room on Monday.

In another match of the same group, Bombay Gymkhana’s billiards marker Sanjay Gamre got the better of JVPG’S Sanjiv Shah 3-2 (62-8, 52-60, 48-34, 28-63 and 60-18) for his second win.

SHAH GETS PAST SHINDE IN BILLIARDS

Seasoned cueist Chandresh Shah (-150) of JVPG put to good advantage his vast experience and managed to overcome Mithil D Shinde (-40) of Thane by 200-165 points in a second round (race to 200 points) match of the Chembur Gymkhana Handicap Billiards Tournament 2018.
