Cops issue summons to Daisy Shah
MUMBAI: The Oshiwara police, which is investigating the allegation of sexual harassment by actor Tanushree Datta against actor Nana Patekar and others, have sent a summons to actor Daisy Shah to record her statement. According to police, Shah was part of the choreography team when the alleged incident took place and was working as the assistant choreographer on the set of the movie at the centre of the controversy, Horn Ok Pleassss.
When Hindustan Times contacted Daisy Shah on Whatsapp, she responded with a message, “Nobody has come to me about this.”
Apart from Patekar, the FIR had also named choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Samee Siddique and director Rakesh Sarang.
“We have sent a summons as Shah’s statement will have a crucial role in the collection of evidence. Her statement will be recorded to know more about the incident that happened on the set prior and post the incident and whether she was a witness to the alleged incident itself,” said an officer.
A first-information report (FIR) was registered at Oshiwara police station on October 11 after police recorded Dutta’s statement late in the evening in the presence of a woman police inspector.
According to the initial complaint of Dutta, Patekar allegedly misbehaved with Dutta while shooting an item song for the film.
Police will have to submit a charge-sheet in the court within 90 days of registering the FIR. They have been recording the statement of witnesses.
