CR IMPOSES 6-HR BLOCK ON SUNDAY, IRKS COMMUTERS

MUMBAI: Although the Central Railway (CR) partially dismantled a foot overbrigde (FOB) at Masjid Bunder railway station on Sunday, the six-hour mega block it implemente­d resulted in cancellati­on of services on the slow line. This angered the commuters, who claimed the services were running way behind schedule. No block was implemente­d on Harbour line and Western Railway (WR).

Senior citizen killed in road accident at Kandivli

MUMBAI: A 62-year-old man, who was riding a scooter, died after a tempo hit his vehicle at Charkop in Kandivli, on Friday. Ashok Sariyya, was on his way to Marve when the incident took place at 2.45pm at Hindustan Naka.

Three tremors recorded in Dahanu for second time

PALGHAR: Three tremors were reported from Dhundalwad­i and surroundin­g areas from Dahanu in the early hours of Sunday. The tremors were reported at 1.35 am, 1.45am and 2.5am, said Vivekanand Kadam, district disaster management officer, Palghar. Tribals living in the nearby villages had experience­d tremors on November 3, 11 and 24.

IIT-B placements: Offers pour in on Day 2 as well

MUMBAI: IIT-B campus was abuzz on the second day of placements, as the number of job offers and salary packages increased as compared to the previous years. “More than 225 offers were made on the first day and the trend continues,” said Anishya Madan, industry liaison officer, training and placement, IIT-B.
