‘BCCI-WADA talks being facilitated by ICC’

NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) is facilitating a dialogue between World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) and the Indian cricket board to resolve the issue, said ICC chief executive officer Dave Richardson. BCCI’S reluctance to allow testing by NADA has prompted WADA to set in motion a process to make the ICC non-compliant. “ICC is trying to facilitate a dialogue between WADA and the BCCI. There is a willingness on the part of BCCI to resolve the situation with the Indian Olympic Association,” said Richardson. He added that ICC will be strongly pushing for cricket’s inclusion in 2028 Olympics.

Supreme Court to hear BCCI matter on January 17 NEW DELHI: On an appeal filed by the Cricket Association of Bihar, the Supreme Court will hear issues related to the Board of Control for Cricket in India on January 17, 2019. Among the key issues expected to come up for hearing will be the role of the Committee of Administrators in running BCCI matters. In recent weeks, the two-member COA (Vinod Rai and Diana Edulji) has differed on issues ranging from the appointment of India women’s coach to quantum of punishment on BCCI CEO Rahul Johri against whom there were allegations of sexual harassment. Johri, of course, was given a clean chit by an independent panel.
