52-YEAR-OLD MOLESTS TEEN IN OSHIWARA, HELD
MUMBAI: The Oshiwara police arrested a 52-year-old Khar resident on Saturday for allegedly molesting a 17-year-old junior college student. As per police, the accused, Dipesh Nandu, had offered the girl a job in an advertising agency on December 11. Police said the minor was returning from a bank when the man approached her and said he would like to hire her for an advertising agency. “The minor was told by the accused that she needs to accompany him to a building in Oshiwara,” said a police officer. Police said the man then molested her in the lobby of the building.
18-year-old electrocuted at an Ulhasnagar school
THANE: An 18-year-old worker was electrocuted at a private school in Ulhasnagar when he was changing a banner put up in the school premises with a new one. The Vitthalwadi police have registered an ADR, following the incident. The victim was identified as Pramod Pandit. “Electricity might have passed through the live wire to the metal parts of the huge banner,” said R B Kadam, senior police inspector.
Activists raise concern over delayed rail infra projects
MUMBAI: Commuter activists at the Rail Parishad (conference) organised by BJP at its Dadarbased office, raised concerns over delay in execution of rail infrastructure projects and demanded to complete them in a set deadline. The passenger activists also pointed out that the city needs timely trains more than air-conditioned ones.
Infant found dead on railway tracks in Dahanu
MUMBAI: An infant was found dead on the tracks between Dahanu and Gholvad station early on Saturday morning. The Palghar GRP registered a case of accidental death as post-mortem report is awaited. Police inspector Uttam Sonawane, Palghar GRP, said, “The gangmen of WR informed us about the body of the infant, a boy, around 7.30am. Investigations are on.”
Three injured as BEST bus rams into 2-wheeler, auto
MUMBAI: Three people were injured on Saturday when a BEST double-decker bus dashed into a two-wheeler and an autorickshaw at Kalina before ramming into a tree. A BEST spokesperson said the bus driver had lost control of the vehicle due to a technical issue. The driver was arrested.
