RAHANE TO LEAD REST OF INDIA IN IRANI CUP TIE

NEW DELHI: Ajinkya Rahane will lead Rest of India in the five-day Irani Cup tie against Ranji champions Vidarbha at Nagpur from February 12. The squad includes Mayank Agarwal, who impressed as replacemen­t opener in the Australia Test series. KL Rahul will captain India A in the four-day game against England Lions in Mysore from Feb 13.

England Lions off to strong start in unofficial Test

NEW DELHI: Ben Duckett (80) and Sam Hain (61) propelled the touring England Lions to 303/5 at the end of the first day of the unofficial Test against India A in Wayanad on Thursday. Put into bat, England Lions started with an 82-run opening partnershi­p between Duckett and Max

Holden (26). Hain, at No 3, played the anchor with a 167-ball 61 before Steven Mullaney (39) and Will Jacks (40) added an unbeaten 65 runs for the sixth wicket.

Windies recall Chris Gayle for England ODI series

ST LUCIA: Chris Gayle has been recalled to the West Indies

ODI squad for the first two games of this month’s five-match home series against England. Gayle has not played for West Indies since he scored 73 in an 18-run ODI defeat against Bangladesh last July and opted out of the tour to India and Bangladesh in October and November.
