Engineer killed as trailer rams into his bike at Turbhe

NAVI MUMBAI: A 23-year-old engineer who was riding his twowheeler on his way to work died after he was crushed under the wheels of a trailer in Turbhe on Friday. The 63-year-old trailer driver, who was coming in the opposite direction but suddenly changed direction and entered the victim’s lane, leading to the accident, has been arrested.

The victim was identified as Pratik Agrawal, a resident of Mumbai. The accused was identified as Trilok Singh, a resident of Panvel. The incident occurred around 11am on the Vashi-turbhe road, near the Turbhe flyover. Satish Nikam, senior police inspector of APMC police station, said “Agrawal was heading for work in the Turbhe naka direction from the Vashi road. The trailer, which was coming from Turbhe flyover, took a sudden right turn at Hanuman Chowk to head towards APMC market.”

DRUNK TEEN CRASHES INTO DIVIDER, DIES

An 18-year-old died after he crashed his scooter, with three people on it, into a divider near the Amar Mahal flyover early on Thursday. According to the police, Ghanshyam Kori was drunk, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. He sustained grievous injuries to his face. His two friends, Mayuresh Mandavkar and Rupesh Shikare, both in their early twenties, sustained minor injuries. “The three were on their way to Sion to deliver a clothes order,” said an officer from Tilak Nagar police.
