CITY FEELS THE CHILL AS TEMP DROPS TO 15.4°C

MUMBAI: After a week of warm weather conditions, Mumbai, on Saturday, recorded a night temperatur­e of 15.4 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below normal. The Santacruz weather station had recorded a day temperatur­e of 29.8 degrees Celsius. The weather bureau said northerly winds had led to cool conditions over the city. “The weather pattern was mostly cool northerly winds on Saturday. Similar conditions are likely to continue on Sunday, after which temperatur­es are expected to rise,” said Sunil Kamble, scientist, IMD . The city can expect a clear sky on Sunday with day and night temperatur­es expected to be 29 and 14 degrees Celsius.

Gujjars call off stir after government assurance

JAIPUR: The Gujjar community on Saturday called off their eightday agitation after tourism minister Vishvendra Singh handed over a draft of reservatio­n bill to the Gujjar leaders on the railway tracks at Malarna Dungar. Maha to get 2K more voting booths for 25L new voters

MUMBAI: The addition of around 25 lakh new voters in Maharashtr­a has led to an increase of 2,000 more polling booths in the state. The recent drive for registrati­on of new voters revealed that 2,000 more polling booths have been added in the state to the already existing 95,473. The drive saw an increase in number of voters by 8,73,30,484 from 8.48 crore voters in September 2018. ››P5
