CITIZENS SHOULD SHOW RESTRAINT. LET THE EXPERTS DECIDE

-

Everybody seems to have advice on how we should ‘take revenge’ against Pakistan after Pulwama. Citizens should show restraint and let the experts decide what needs to be done.

We should not flood social media sites and Whatsapp with forwards that will only create confusion. Of course we must protect our armed forces, but decisions made in haste could result in avoidable casualties.

If citizens want to show love and affection for their nation and our soldiers, we should be nicer to each other, rather than airing unsolicited comments on social media.

POLITICIANS SHOULD WORK TOGETHER AT SUCH A TIME

This is with reference to ‘Kashmir’s bloodiest day’ (February 15, Page 1). Another terrorist attack and another blame game.

Is there no end to this? How many more soldiers are we going to lose?

When will this stop? Aren’t we answerable to future generations?

These are not just my questions but questions raised by millions of Indians anguished by these terror attacks.

If our politicians are really concerned about the well-being of our nation and its soldiers, they will join hands today and work together on this.

COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD MUST UNITE AGAINST TERRORISM

This is with reference to ‘India unites in mourning’ (February 16, Page 1).

Terrorists carry out such attacks in order to generate unrest, fear and divisions among people.

This is not the first time that our country is facing such an attack. And we aren’t the only ones.

Countries of the world should now unite, in a sustained, mature and comprehensive manner, to put an end to such crimes.

SADLY, NO SURPRISE THAT M.U. ATHLETES MEET IS A MESS

This is with reference to ‘Athletes stumped over lack of facilities at MU campus’ (February 16, Page 4).

The Mumbai university has acquired a notoriety for inadequate arrangements for major events.

So it is no surprise that there are now such complaints about accommodation, food and toilet arrangements made here for the 3,000 athletes and their coaches who have come to the city for an inter-state university sports festival.

It is a pity that even with the change in vicechancellor of the university, things have not yet improved in this respect.
