Besides Lok Sabha, for assembly, the two parties will contest equal number of seats which would be declared after negotiations with smaller allies.

It was also decided that the two parties will share ministerial posts equally if they return to power after the Assembly elections.

Saamna says terror attacks should not be used for political benefits

A day after the Sena and BJP announced an alliance, the Sena continued to attack PM Modi. The Sena in an editorial in the party mouthpiece Saamana said that in 2014, Modi and the RSS blamed the Manmohan Singh-govt and said that despite the '56-inch chest' the current govt could not stop terror attacks in Kashmir.

The party mouthpiece also said that "riots and terror attack should

not become means to win elections" as it accused BJP for politics over Pulwama attack.

The Sena also criticised the intelligence failure that led to the Pulwama attack. It said that while intelligence agencies were able to trace the e-mail that there is a threat to the Prime Minister's life from "Naxalites in Pune", they have no clue how a bus carrying CRPF jawans is attacked in broad daylight.
