PAKISTAN ASKING FOR PROOF OF ROLE IN ATTACK STRANGE

-

It is strange that Pakistani government has denied its involvement in the recent terror attacks (Imran asks for proof of role in attack; it’s sitting in Pak: India, February 20). Prime minister Imran Khan asking for evidence is nothing but a cruel joke. India did provide Pakistan with evidence regarding the 26/11, Uri or Pathankot attacks in the past. But the latter has denied it all the time and continues to determine terrorism as its foreign policy. I think it is time to cut all economic and cultural ties with Pakistan.

INDIA MUST WITHDRAW FROM WORLD CUP IF PAKISTAN IS PART OF IT

India should not take part in any event where Pakistan is also participating, be it sports or otherwise (Army sure of Pakistan hand, warns militants, February 20). We should withdraw from the World Cup also if Pakistan is playing. This will make the maximum impact. The World Cup (WC) tournament will lose half its sheen if India refuses to play. The International Cricket Council (ICC) then may have to look at options, including dropping Pakistan from the tournament. The best way it can happen is by the players’ collective withdrawal from the WC team.

MUMBAI FIRE BRIGADE’S MOVE TO MODERNISE IS WELCOME

The decision by Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) to modernise itself with time-saving and more efficient tools is applaudable (Rs.4.9-cr tools to help fire brigade save time during ops, February 20). Since the fire brigade has not upgraded its equipment for 19 years, this decision was long awaited in order to ensure quick responses to disasters. VS IYER
