Central Railway pip Mumbai Port Trust in MHAL League

MUMBAI: Defending champions Central Railway overcame Mumbai Port Trust 2-1 in a Super Division match of the MHAL League at Churchgate on Wednesday.

After a barren first half, Bhushan D scored in the 41st minute to give Mumbai Port Trust the lead but two minutes later, Anup Walmiki converted from a penalty to level the scores. Mohd Nizamuddin, with a field effort, struck the winner ten minutes later for Central Railway.

Earlier, Union Bank of India stormed to a 4-2 win against Western Railway. Vinod Saini scored two while Prince Chaurasia and Suraj Shahi netted one each against Western Railway. DON BOSCO ‘A’ WIN U-12 MSSA HOCKEY

Don Bosco A, Matunga beat St Stanislaus, Bandra, 2-1 in the final of the boys’ Under-12 MSSA knock-out hockey tournament on Wednesday. The teams were locked 1-1 at half-time with Harsh Kadam giving Bosco the lead in the 10th minute and Daniel Saluja equalising two minutes later for Stanislaus. Gavin Rao scored in the 21st minute to seal the game for Don Bosco.

MEGHDOOT SC DOWN MARYLAND SC 2-0

Meghdoot SC blanked Maryland SC 2-0 in a first round match of the Bandra Gymkhana Annual Floodlit Rink Football Tournament on Wednesday.

In another match, IC United got the better of 7 Stars Khar 2-1. Ethan R and Akshay S scored one goal each for IC United while Avinash M scored one for 7 Stars.
