APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME FROM AUG 15
The state plans to start an
apprenticeship scheme, under which educated unemployed youths in the age group of 21 and 28 will get a chance to work as an apprentice in a private or government
to provide jobs to youths. To make this possible, we have decided to implement the Maharashtra Apprenticeship Scheme that will provide employment as well as self-employment opportunities to youths who have passed Class 10. It will include new industries and service sector such as e-commerce, It-enabled services, tourism, hospitality, fintech and textile,” Pawar said.
The state will develop a new website for easy, effective, speedy and transparent implementation and monitoring of the scheme. “The scheme will also help in creating new jobs and ultimately help the state economy to grow. The government will spend ₹1,200 crore every year. The scheme will firm for a stipend of up to ₹9,000 a month. While the state will pay ₹5,000, the firm will have to pay the rest. The scheme aims to provide employment to 10 lakh youths in five years.

Pawar announced that a law will be enacted to ensure 80% reservation for locals in private sector jobs . It means all those residing in the state for 15 years will get priority in jobs. “The government intends to make a comprehensive law by correcting the flaws in the existing policy,” he said.
