‘STATE MUST OPEN PLACES OF WORSHIP’
PUNE:ROHIT Pawar, the grandnephew of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar and a legislator from Jamkhed, Ahmednagar, on Sunday demanded for the reopening of temples across Maharashtra. “I think temples and other religious places should be opened as many livelihoods are dependent on them. I will follow-up on this,” Rohit tweeted, in response to a tweet by a citizen who cited how traders in Tuljapur are facing difficulties due to the closure of the temples.
Responding to Rohit’s tweet, NCP minister Nawab Malik said, “As a representative, one has to listen and respond to what people feel and say. But in a situation like this, the state has to look at all aspects, including citizens’ safety.”
A section of the Shiv Sena also asked for the reopening of religious places.
unnecessary statements, he (Parth) can work a lot in the Maval parliamentary constituency as the party is in the government and his father is the deputy chief minister and finance minister as well” said another NCP leader.
Senior NCP leader and Member of Parliament (MP) Praful Patel said there is no family feud.
“There is no issue such as Sharad Pawar versus Ajit Pawar. Parth’s issue is not a big one and there is no dispute. I have personally met members from the Pawar family, had discussions with them and it is not a big political issue. It is being given unnecessary importance,” Patel told reporters in Nagpur on Sunday.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentarian from Pune, Girish Bapat, also said that it was a family issue and ruled out any possibility of his party inducting Parth.
