Actor-director, Seema Bhargava Pahwa, adds that the move will provide a kind of assurance to senior actors. She says, “The cast and crew, especially the senior members, need an assurance from the production house that they are going to be compensate­d as they are prone to contractin­g the virus. The increase in the mediclaim amount is a good move. I also feel that producers should try and get everyone vaccinated before resuming shoots.”

While there is no clarity on when shoots can resume, producer Mukesh Bhatt feels that this move will give an assurance to the cast and the crew. “I’m not aware of the amount but if it is getting increased, it is a good move. I feel this scheme should be extended to family members also as that will ease the burden of many daily wage workers on the sets,” he says.

Producer Anand Pandit feels that a producer should be responsibl­e for his unit. “I welcome the increase in the
