Angadia extortion case: Court grants bail to 3 cops
MUMBAI: The Mumbai sessions court on Monday granted bail to three police officers arrested in connection with the Angadia extortion case registered by the LT Marg police station. Additional sessions judge R M Sadrani granted bail to Om Wangate, Nitin Kadam, and Samadhan Jamdade, 33, all of whom were attached to the LT Marg police station, on furnishing personal bonds of ₹25,000 each and one or two sureties in the same amount. The court has granted them bail because the investigation is complete and charge sheet has been already filed against them.
CM meets election commissioner over local body polls MUMBAI: Amid the political issue created following the Supreme Court directives to the state election commission (SEC) in Maharashtra to hold elections for local body elections without reservation for the Other Backward Classes (OBC), chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday held a meeting with UPS Madan, state election commissioner and discussed their plans on holding polls, officials said. The meeting was held when the MVA government was examining possible legal remedies.
Power outage in parts of city, suburbs MUMBAI : A technical fault led to power supply cut in parts of Mumbai city and suburbs, which led to disruptions for a few minutes late on Monday. A statement from the Tata Power Company said that the disruption happened due to an incident of powertripping of 220kv MSETCL OLTS protection at their Trombay Receiving Station. Power supply was also affected in the suburbs. However, in a statement later, Tata Power denied that it was responsible for the power cut.
